Madison (Maddie) and Erin are implementing ONE HEALTHy Community project and are partnering with multiple secondary schools in Westmoreland County. Maddie and Erin are teaching students about the connection between environmental health, human health, and animal health with support from One Health lesson plans. With Westmoreland County residents’ relatively high risk of exposure to Lyme Disease and other tick-borne illnesses, they are aiming to educate students around the county about how to keep themselves and their families safe. Through community discussions and an assessment of needs, Maddie and Erin are also creating pamphlets to be distributed at local parks.
