Tyler Traister is an Environmental Fellow who will implement a health promotion program for LGBTQ adolescents at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center and the Central Wellness Outreach Center. Tyler’s project will focus educating adolescents on smoking, cancer risks, STIs and HIV, safe sex, drugs and alcohol, mental health and immunizations, as well as connecting
Joanna will work at the Sheep Clinic in Monroeville to provide follow-up outreach to uninsured individuals treated at the clinic through a telephonic care management program. By contacting and educating patients, Joanna hopes to close the knowledge gap in healthcare and improve compliance with treatment programs.
The target population for Samanthas project is teenagers in Pittsburghs Hazelwood neighborhood. Her project aims to use a variety of creative art forms to give young people an opportunity to safely and productively engage in social interaction, discover new passions, express themselves creatively, and gain a sense of accomplishment.
