Description
The Pittsburgh Schweitzer Fellows Program (PSFP) is seeking enthusiastic and motivated students with experience and expertise in communications, marketing, and social media to support the PSFP staff in raising the profile and public awareness of PSFP.
Responsibilities
- Interview current Fellows
- Create blog posts on each Fellow’s project that can be featured in newsletters, on the PSFP website, and on PSFP social media pages
- Create one-page Fellows Files that include: an impactful quote, details on the project, and facts about the Fellow
- Work with Communications Coordinator to promote PSFP on social media
- Plan, create and implement social media plan for PSFP’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts
- Coordinate social media plan with upcoming events and fundraising initiatives
- Find curated content to supplement original content provided by staff
- Work with staff to write engaging and meaningful blog posts
- Other responsibilities include:
- Contributing to marketing and communications pieces through research and writing
- Proofreading fundraising and marketing communications
- Updating and managing donor database
Requirements
We are seeking a student with communication, writing, and research skills. The intern will assist with the fundraising, outreach, and communications at the Pittsburgh Schweitzer Fellows Program. This position is a great fit for students who are interested in nonprofit. This is a great opportunity to cultivate skills in communications, social media, marketing, fundraising, and event planning. The intern will work directly with the Executive Director and other PSFP staff.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Basic communication and marketing knowledge
- Experience using social media platforms, including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WordPress
- Experience with Microsoft office
- Ability to be flexible about projects and meet deadlines
- Enthusiasm for our mission
- Ability to work independently
- Grant writing experience helpful
- Event planning (optional)
